For the last couple of years I had lot’s of fun drawing, painting, sculpting, animating under the alias Superoboturbo, and I have the feeling everything has only just begun.
I just finished two projects for different well known magazines, and enjoyed having two group shows at the same time recently. (not good for nap-time!) You can follow my updates on twitter.
Jesse Hendriks and I started this website to entertain, inform, collect, share, interview, publish & invite.
It is an o-so-handy ever growing database, library and archive. Like! us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter or get our RSS feeds.
A little while ago, I decided to archive my records to have a better overview. It is much of a relieve to see the record covers alphabetical ordened on this one page, instead of the thin record sides stuffed in my closet.
Robin van Wijk and I play Super Mario Kart a lot. We once played match races till the Super Nintendo couldn't count further than 99 - 99.
As a reaction I created this live twitter based scoreboard that can count to eternity, and beyound!

Jesse Hendriks and I had some fun taking pictures with a disposable camera all day long.

The ‘Geenhoorn’ project was a personal project.
I secretly launched a magazine at the Royal Academy of Art.
It contained only madness & crap..
My goal was not being discoverred as the creator.
Nobody, not even my best friends, knew it was me untill the end of the year.
In collaboration with Koehorst in 't Veld, I created the visual identity for a new show at ‘Kunsthal Kade’.
I worked on the typographic logo and the image on the background, which is a still from the animated loop below.
I made this poster for a project of Gert Dumbar, titled ‘Can Posters Talk’.
I transformed myself in a poster, to experience the actual ‘hanging around’ posters usually do.
Just imagine being glued to a cold, wet, concrete wall, or to be torned off a wall
This was my submission for last years Crossing Border poster.

I was happy to win the dutch Cut&Paste graphic design finals in Amsterdam (Paradiso) last year.
The final assignment was to create an ‘icon’ in 15 Minutes live on stage.
I won because I was the only one interacting with the people that came to see the contest.
I asked the audience to send me ‘icon’ ideas, bodyparts or suggestions by SMS, and tried to include everything I received on my phone in one single ’icon’.
As a result from winning the dutch Cut&Paste finals in Amsterdam, Tom Geraedts and I where invited to the Cut&Paste Global Championships.
Both of us didn‘t become world champion, but it was a great opportunity to see NY.

I recently did these drawings of clowns.

Overnight I hung some posters around at the Academy.
Containing message's like “I’ll never be late at school” and “I’ll do anything the teacher tells me to do”.
It was a reaction on an E-Mail we received from the head of the Graphic Design department, telling us there was to little motivation, passion and ambition going on in the school.
In the end I launched the website about the project, and the source was unleashed, and the message was clear.
I'm proud to mention the Gold Award we have won at Trapped in Suburbia, with our ‘Martelkelder’ (Torture Basement) project!
I created this sticker for the entrance of Trapped in Suburbia.
Maybe it was being bored by reading the same news in every free newspaper, that made me create this random version.
It lookes different, but includes the same news at every click.
I drunk a bottle of Coca Cola in 6 Minutes, and made 600 drawings in a sugar rushing 60 Minutes.
In the past I used to be “against” growing older.
I made this little animation of Man-O’Clock that get’s older.
Because you can't stop getting older, and it didn’t seem fair to me one day, that my characters live forever.
Drawings I made for Maaghond Magazine.
A magazine that featured work of my friends and me.

This is an Affiche I designed for a fictional event with lectures about photo manipulation, and how thrustworthy photographs are these days, when used as evidence.

Printer Ink is very expensive these days.
I just had to react on that by making my printer do a Poo-Poo.
I was asked by Karin & Cuby from Trapped in Suburbia to create characters for the Diligentia Theater.
I decided to make a ‘H’ and an ‘A’, so that we could spel ‘hahahaha’.

I spend some time building this doghouse. It is made from wood and has super cool dog stickers on it.
LouLou & Tummie designed some large Designertoys for the Graphic Design Festival.
I was happy to participate in the project, and painted one of the toys.
Click the image above to rotate it.
In collaboration with Trapped in Suburbia, I created these gods for the telephone company Hi.

I do like to paint people every now and then. This guy is one of my favorite models.
Viktor Hachmang and I where asked to design a christmas card for the alumni of the Royal Academy of Art.
There was little time, so we scanned the first christmas card we saw.
The text on the back is the text from the briefing, including the example text and the information for the printer, about prices and quantity.
I did these on a wednesday over at Trapped in Suburbia!

Perhaps this is the best portrait of Sean Connery I ever did.
This picture of Sean Connery is the coolest one on earth, I had to paint it. The camera ads 10 pounds.
I did this screenprint for a solo show last year.

Trapped in Suburbia was asked to collect a team of designers to make 16 pages for the book ‘GreyTones 10 - MyCity’.

Some bigger images of my ‘superoboturbo’ work can now be found on this Behance page.
Thanks for the nice comments folks, keeps me going.
I thought this sketch was fun to look at.
I'm not sure if the final actual poster looked better than the sketch.
Karin & Cuby from Trapped in Suburbia asked me to draw some drawings for the Hi! Brandbook.

Gijsbert Dijker gave us the assignment to design a stamp.
I came up with little stamp magazines that tell the receiver about the location his or her package was sent from.

I created this character for the identity of the ‘Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam’ brochures.
It was a project I did in collaboration with my friends from Trapped in Suburbia
We surprised the client with a visit at the school, in a suit of the character.
